Having Trouble Keeping Your Resolutions?

Are you having trouble keep those resolutions you made a mere two and a half weeks ago? I've posted a blog today about re-training our brains to take bad habits and make new ones. The post is geared for writers, but it can be helpful with any habits you'd like to change. So please come on over!

Oh, and I'm offering a drawing for chocolate!

Finally Free!!

We've been snowed in all this week! Something that never happens in Georgia. The kids missed a whole week of school (tomorrow is cancelled as well). But today...TODAY!...I finally got out of the  house beyond the realm of taking the dogs out to do their business. :)

I actually ditched my sweats for jeans. Put on makeup. Fixed my hair! Traded the house slippers for my everyday clogs. And drove my car!! Bought groceries. Cold medicine I was desperate for. Oh, and I got to eat out. I wouldn't have thought I could go 4 days without, at a minimum, hitting the drive-through at least once.

Okay, can you tell I'm giddy? And maybe a little loopy? :)

I'm certainly glad tomorrow is supposed to hit 40 degrees. It'll be a huge relief. We'll get life back to normal.

But you know, there's something to be said for a few days with no way to go anywhere. No commitments to rush to. Life slowed down a bit. I had uninterrupted writing time (well, while the kids slept in late, anyway). The kids played ping-pong, Foosball, and of course video games. They played in the snow and romped with the dogs. The family played a board game, watched TV, ate meals together.

So though I was very ready to get out the door today, I have to say the last few days have been nice. I wonder when the next big snow will be? :)

Costume Party Monday!

Stop by Seekerville (www.seekerville.net) for a Historical Costume Party, on
Monday, January 10, to celebrate Love Inspired Historical as they expand from
two books monthly to four.

Our special guest is Senior Editor Tina James who will be giving away the entire
January Love Inspired Historical release set.

Additionally, if you arrive in Seekerville on Monday, January 10, dressed for
the party you can win one of ten Seeker Surprise packages. But you must be
dressed as yourself in costume or as a character from history or fiction. The
time span is the same as a Love Inspired Historical which is up to and including
WWII.

You can describe your character in your comments or change your Blogger photo to
show us your character.

Just don't be late to the party!

Oh, and see if you can figure out who I am in my costume (blogger profile) photo for the day. :)

Happy New Year!!

I hope you've had a fantastic New Year's Day! In the Tippens household, January 1st means it's time to look at the budget for the year. Oh, joy! :)

Although I have to admit this year, my husband ended up doing the brunt of the work because I was driving my oldest to the airport for a mission trip. I'd appreciate prayer for a safe week for him and the rest of the students from his Wesley Fellowship group. They'll be working with and feeding the homeless.

I wish you a happy and prosperous 2011!! Thanks for hanging out here on my blog. I appreciate you!
