Powerful Movie: The Last Mountain

I just heard about this movie. It looks amazing. My dad was born in the Appalachian mountains in Kentucky. My mom, sister and I were born in northeastern Kentucky in the Appalachian region as well. I still have aunts, uncles and cousins there. It's heart breaking to see what's happening to these mountain areas.

Here's the video trailer:

I want to see this movie now, after seeing the preview. From the preview it shows the rivers that can be affected from the coal runoff. It's not just Kentucky, but quite a few other states as well. I am a Kentucky girl and I don't want to lose our last mountain.
Maybe this movie will help people realize that we as a country have to find away to get engery from other soucres. Wind engery could work.

I agree, Carissa. The movie is actually about a mountain in West Virginia. But I've seen some of the mining in KY.

The water thing disturbed me as well. It could be affecting me here in North Georgia.

I live in Wilmore, KY and it is sad what is happening in eastern KY. One area though has been reclaimed and made into a golf course. Our church helps with mountain missions because of the poverty in this area.

Jackie, it's great to hear some of the land has been reclaimed. But I'm sure it's sad to see the landscape change so drastically.
