Wonderful Discovery!

I just made the most wonderful discovery while shopping with my mother on Friday in Athens. Isle of Candles Soy Lotion Candles! They're made of pure soy oil. As they burn, you can take the warm wax and use as a lotion. Oh, my! My hands never felt better. It's amazing.

I bought the caramel vanilla and blackberry sage fragrances. They both smell yummy! And they smell good on my hands as well. I just placed an order online for a couple of other fragrances. You'll have to check it out!

Newsletter Mailing--Did You Get Yours?

I just sent a new email newsletter Tuesday night. If you didn't get your copy, and you think you've already signed up, then please look in the side-bar and sign up again. They notified me of that there were about 22 email addresses that bounced (were incorrect). Don't worry about getting a duplicate. The newsletter service automatically removes duplicates.

And if you've never signed up, I hope you'll consider it! I only send newsletters quarterly or when I have special news. So far this year, I've only sent two. I promise not to fill your email box! :)

What's Cooking?

I've bought the groceries. My son is traveling home as I write. More of my family is coming in tomorrow. And I've decided I'm going to start cooking tomorrow!

I know I'll do the turkey and dressing on Thursday. But I may go ahead and bake the desserts tomorrow. Make the cranberry jello salad tomorrow as well. I'm also thinking of cooking the squash for the casserole. What do you think?

How much cooking do you do a day ahead of time for Thanksgiving? Last time we had the meal at my house, I did just about everything on Thursday and was totally exhausted. I think I want to plan better this time around! I'd love your input.

New Author Sandi Rog

MastersWall.jpgI've just learned of an author, Sandi Rog, who is a friend of a friend. I hope you'll hop over to the F.A.I.T.H. blog to read her story. On the day her first book released, she found out she'd been diagnosed with brain cancer. Such a sad story. Please stop by and read how you might be able to help...

Fixed the Link from Today's Post

Ooops! Several people contacted me. I guess I was still celebrating the Giants' win and copied and pasted the wrong link. :)

Here's the correct link for checking out Sun Stand Still.

Ever Wondered How to Pray?

Have you ever wondered how to pray? I can tell you that I have. That's why when I got a promotional email from the publisher for this book, Sun Stand Still by Steven Furtick, I clicked to check it out. The author talks about praying for things that are out of our league--that only God can accomplish. He gives several other "steps" to help us pray like we've never prayed before. There's an excerpt at this link (click here) that I really found inspiring. (And you can download the list.) I'm going to try to incorporate it in my own prayer life!

San Francisco Giants Parade

I just got to look at some great photos from the parade to welcome home the Giants after winning the World Series. I thought I'd share a few from SFGate.com. You can see all of them by clicking here. We had hoped to see Buster's championship ring at Christmas, but have since heard from a friend that they aren't presented until the opening of next season. So I guess it'll be a while!

The article says hundreds of thousands of fans showed up. Some estimated maybe a million. Must have been quite a celebration.
