Out with the Old...In with the New

Out with the old, in with the new.
I spotted this scene the other day, and that was the first thought that popped into my head! You may have to click on the photo to blow it up to get a good look (I took it while driving!). It's a old, beat up TV someone ditched by the road. And all around it are beautiful daffodils! What a contrast, huh?

I'm loving the warm weather we had yesterday. Sunny and 74 degrees! Perfect driving weather, as I always tell my kids. So I was doing all my normal taxi mom runs yesterday with my windows down, music blasting and my sun roof open--and sneezing! I know I must've looked crazy sneezing my head off, then going back to singing at the top of my lungs. :) But I couldn't help it. I just love a glorious spring day.

One of my stops yesterday was at the library, and as I was pulling out of the parking lot, I had to stop and grab my phone to take this gorgeous photo out of my sunroof. The cherry blossom trees are outstanding! And there are areas in town with clusters of Bradford Pear trees that give the feeling of snow because you're surrounded by white.

So spring is here in Georgia! If you're not experiencing it yet, I hope you will soon!

Review of Winter's End by Ruth Logan Herne

I'm posting a review of debut author Ruth Logan Herne's book, Winter's End (loved it!!!) on one of my group blogs on Thursday, March 18. I hope you'll stop by and read it. The review is geared toward writers, but I think a reader might be intrigued by how I studied the book to learn. :)

Finalist for the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence!

I know I've been a terrible blogger lately! But I've been totally absorbed in writing a new book which is due May 1. I'm happy to say I'm 43,000 words into a 55-60,000 word manuscript. And I'm having so much fun with it!

But now, the main reason I'm blogging today... I got a call that my most recent book, A Forever Christmas, is a finalist in the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence! They'll be naming the winners around April 1st. But I'm so totally thrilled and honored to simply be a finalist! You can check out the full list of finalists on the Southern Magic Chapter website. Gayle Wilson is an amazing woman, another reason this is such a great honor. Plus, two of my fellow Seeker bloggers are also finalists! It's like old times again, coming up against each other in writing contests (which is what brought our group of friends together in the first place). :)

I've also received two blogger awards the last couple of weeks from some wonderful bloggers. I'm so sorry I haven't posted the awards (again, I've been typing away!). So thank you Jane and Hannah for honoring me! I'll try to do better about posting these things! :)
