The Music of Christmas

How many of you find music one of the best parts of Christmas? I love the holiday spirit on the radio. I love the special music at church. I love playing my Christmas CD's at home. So many beautiful songs about the baby Jesus!

Our church choir is doing special music for the whole service next Sunday. I'm really excited to share the music. We always have so much fun singing it that we almost forget we're "performing." What joy to sing! And what a blessing music is.

Do you have any favorite Christmas songs or albums?

Hey Missy!
My family watches American Idol. So, of course the new album added to our collection this year was David Archuleta's Christmas from the Heart album. It is so beautiful! He puts a definite "David" twist on it, but his voice is so gorgeous and pure....I've gotta go listen to it again!!! Check it out!

I'm playing in my piano recital on Sunday evening. My solo is a beautiful composition of We Three Kings. It makes me excited just thinking about it!! It's the first arrangement that I've ever heard that's made the song sound beautiful. My duet is Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Joy to World combined. This is a very challenging and satisfying arrangement that will be a great finale to our recital. I'm so excited!!

I started A Forever Christmas today! I've read about 50 pages and it's very good so far! Can't wait to read some more of it later when I'm done my homework!

Gotta get back to it,

Hannah, we are SO looking forward to American Idol to start again! I'll have to look for David's album. I didn't realize he had a Christmas album. I must go find it to add to my collection! :)

Good luck with your recital. I'm sure you'll do great!

Oh, and enjoy the story. But ONLY after all homework is done. [grin]

Lol! You sound like my mom! That was always the tough thing when I was little. No, I was not the kid whining for more TV, but "Please mom, just a few more minutes to read!!!" : ) Lol!

Yes, you should check out David's album. We definitely think it's a beautiful album.

We are actually going to be out of town this weekend in Boston, MA to see David Archuleta's Xmas tour!! Woohoo!! We are soooo excited!

Can't wait for AI to start again! Thanks for the goodluck, I'll let you know how it goes : )

Thanks for that recommendation, Jel! I really love Jewel's Christmas album--Joy, I think it's called.

And Amy Grant's A Christmas Album (with the song Tennessee Christmas). I love that song!

Hi Missy:

My wife just got a Christmas CD which has songs by famous singers of the 1950’s and I really enjoy hearing these singers again.

BTW, I love it when merchants extend the Christmas season. When I hear all those Christmas songs in stores before Thanksgiving, I just smile and think: “All your customers are hearing ‘little sermons’ about an important part of Christianity.”

Vince, your wife's CD sounds great!

We had our Christmas cantata today (did it last night and twice today, actually!). I'm so tired. But we had a ball doing it.

Of course, I got so choked up in Silent Night that I could hardly sing! The words just hit me hard today. So moving.
