We Have a Winner!

Belinda has won the copy of The One Year Women's Friendship Devotional. Congrats!

And now I have to tell you I'm so excited. My college freshman son is on his way home!! For the first time since he left in August. I can't stop smiling!! :)

The turkey is thawing. I have a new cake recipe to try. And I'm going to buy groceries tomorrow. I'm looking so forward to this holiday. I may be strange, but I always love Thanksgiving more than any other holiday. And this year, with our oldest being away, it's going to make family time that much more sweet.

I hope each of you has fun plans ahead. I'd love to hear what you're going to be doing this week!

Oh Missy...I can understand your joy knowing your son is on his way home!! My 2 daughters are both coming home from their colleges (Becca tomorrow and Amy on Wednesday!) so for the first time in several months I'll have all 3 of my redheads with me at one time! We're all going to my sister Nancy's for T'giving dinner(taking food to help out) AND Nancy's birthday is ON Thanksgiving Day this year, so we'll celebrate it (and we can call her a real TURKEY this year-LOL!!). Hugs, Patti Jo :)

Congrats on winning the devotional, Lindi!

I'm praying Nick has a safe journey home, Missy. Hmm, it should be about 11:13 EST, so any minute, baby boy will be walking in the door. . .

Stuff him full of turkey and brownies, K?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Audra, he's here!! And we're playing on his computer with Photo Booth, laughing our heads off!!!

Yes, brownies sound perfect. Who needs pumpkin pie? :)

Hi Missy,
Wow, well thank you for stopping by my blog last night. :-) That was really kind of you and definitely made me feel good. Thank you!
I hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving.

btw, I really enjoyed your first book and am looking forward to the second. I guess I should go check out your website to see what it's about. And isn't your editor Emily Rodmell? She just gave me a very kind rejection and mentioned my characterization, so I'm planning on studying your and Janet Dean's new releases. :-)

Yes, Jessica, Emily is my editor. She's wonderful! I hope you'll send her something again! She found and bought my book and Lynette Eason's book a week apart. I think they were her first buys. So study Lynette, too, if you want to see what caught her eye. :) And of course, Janet's characters are still in my head, so she's very good at it!

If it makes you feel any better, my first rejection from LI said I had cardboard characters. So there is hope! LOL I recommend Alicia Rasley's The Story Within Workbook for really helping flesh out characters. The first book I plotted using it was Michael's Surrender... which became Her Unlikely Family! :)
